Mike Nistler is the Editor and Co-Publisher of Minnesota Moments magazine. Mike grew up on a farm in central Minnesota, attended Holy Cross Elementary School, Kimball High School and St. Cloud State University, where he studied journalism after his dream of playing college baseball fizzled. Mike did, however, go on to play amateur baseball and even won a state tournament in 1992 as a catcher for the Sartell Muskies.

Mike had a 20-year career in journalism, working at a variety of weekly and daily newspapers around the state. He’s written two history books for the centennial celebrations in the communities of Watkins and Eden Valley.

Mike was an adjunct faculty member at St. Cloud State University for nine years where he taught beginning news writing.

He is the father of two daughters, and two golden retrievers and has run two marathons.
